Water Supervisor

Position requires responsible administrative, technical, and supervisory work in overseeing the efficient operations of the City’s potable water systems, stormwater program, street sweeping, and closed landfill compliance. This position reports to the Utilities Superintendent. Specific duties include: preparing required reports in accordance with regulatory requirements; directing and overseeing water well, meter/backflow prevention, and water distribution system operations; maintaining all potable water quality parameters and conditions in accordance with EPA, FDEP, SWFWMD, and DOH guidelines; leading water quality response to water system emergencies; overseeing stormwater maintenance operations and maintaining NPDES permit requirements; responding to citizen inquiries and complaints in a timely and courteous manner; and assisting the Utilities Superintendent with administrative matters including budget planning and implementation, personnel matters, and other matters as required. High school diploma or GED Equivalency is required. Associate’s degree in water technology and/or business management is preferred. Vocational/specialized training in water technology and business management is required. Three years of progressively responsible experience in water utility operations, water technology, pumps, hydraulics and regulatory understanding is required. Two year’s supervisory experience, preferably in a water utility is required. Valid Florida Drivers License required and an FDEP Water Treatment Plant Operator “B” License. An FDEP Water Treatment Plant Operator “A” License is preferred. In addition to a Water Treatment Plant Operator license, a Water Distribution Operator License Level 2 or greater is preferred.
