SALARY RANGE (C-116) $37,516 - $57,284 ANNUALLY
Specialized work involving supervisory responsibilities in the operation and maintenance of a water treatment plant, pump and storage facility, equipment, and grounds. Duties include supervision of operators, mechanics, and trainees engaged in the maintenance and operation of a water treatment plant and related facilities. The Chief Operator will also oversee the water quality team, which is responsible for handling customer complaints regarding water quality issues. The selected candidate will report to the Public Utilities Coordinator, but will be expected to exercise a high degree of independent judgment and initiative in solving routine maintenance and operating problems.
QUALIFICATIONS: HS/GED, possession of a current State of Florida Class “A” Water Treatment Plant Operator license; possession of a valid State of Florida driver’s license; and, at least two (2) years of progressively responsible work experience as a Water Treatment Plant Operator. Experience in membrane plant operations is desirable.
